Strong desire for home solar energy
Nearly 63% would like solar energy at home or want to know more..

A new Horizon Research survey of more than 2000 New Zealand homeowners indicates there is a strong desire to use solar energy.

The September 21-October 9 survey of 2,040 home owners nationwide finds 8% of respondents, or about 4% of the country's 1.74 million dwellings, has solar power or solar hot water heating.

However, 34% who don't have it would like it.

Another 26.7% don't have it, but are interested in finding out more about it.

31% are not interested in having it at their home.

The survey followed an announcement by The Warehouse Limited, Kiwibank and a solar energy provider of a new retailer voucher bonus and bank loan scheme to fund solar installations in homes.
